AU CLAIR THE LUNE
Coco Luna Watts / dance
In this work I am exploring the topic of Femininity in relation to vulnerability and masc-ing.
ON EDGE
Rita Irritada / Between dance, theatre and comedy
On Edge is a solo performed by all my personalities, characters, ghosts and fantasies. It is structured as a cabaret, made of different scenes, with audience interaction. Each scene incorporates a part of me and its specific energy: the sexy lesbian brazilian funk dancer, the angry hip hop white dude, the conceptual contemporary mover, the intellectual, the clown, the activist, the wanna-be therapist… This mashup of codes and languages invites the contradiction of life on stage.
THE MIRE
Sofya Shaikut / Butho
The Mire is a story of blindness and of a childish-like yet terrible madness. It follows a creature that lives in mud and near places of water. It touches, smells, and tastes, but it has no eyes, no way to make distance between itself and the world.
ALBERT
Andrew Clark/ Natalia Pais Fornari / Theatre
Albert was presented at Acker Stadt Palast during the ONSITE festival in 2025, as a response to the theme of situated fabulations. Description: Albert (or the spirit of the Albert), a deactivated hotel/pub located in a Scottish village, travels to Berlin. In a visit to the (then Acker Stadt Palast), he tells a few tales of his past life whilst dwelling on how important a community is, and how important it is to keep what we love alive and open. Albert is a critique to the current affairs of gentrification, heartfully going against the closure of places of importance to community and open culture, and its replacement in the form of chains and bougie-oriented third spaces. Visiting the Konserve this time, Albert wishes to explore a situated fabulation alike, delving as well in the push-and-pulls of Haus der Statistik, a place we're very familiar with as part of NIE Theater.
SPECK
Frida Zack and Co / Performance
Squishy arms dance to the trumpets of “Hips Don’t Lie.” Bellies jiggle, thighs slap, flesh resounds. The performance „SPECK“ (German for “fat” or “bacon”) is a playful exploration of the talents of human fat. Resisting weight-based discrimination, the performers transform fat into material for sound, movement, euphoria, and melancholy. Between bittersweet landscapes of flesh, breathless exhaustion from fighting, and the shattering force of thunderthigs, the piece opens up a world in which (thick) bodies dance through memories of shame, fragile moments of vulnerability, and the power of self-acceptance. A performance by Frida Zack and friends.
