Daniel Drabek

Daniel Drabek has been dancing around objects or people since he was 11 years old. Through Tae-Kwon-Do and ballet, he succeeded much later in contemporary dance theater. He sees this as the most beautiful challenge for a theatre professional: to examine language, movement, dance, music and society and to present them as an author in new plays.
He studied art, sports and pedagogy at the University of Essen before attending the University of the Arts in Arnhem and completing his studies "Theaterdans" with the BDa. Since 2002 he has been working as a dancer for various projects and theatres at home and abroad. These include the Cadance New Dance Festival (DenHaag), Theater Osnabrück and the company Constanza Macras/Dorky Park. Since 2003 he has been developing choreographies that have been shown in Arnhem, Osnabrück, Ahrenshoop, Greiz and Berlin. He is a founding member of the Berlin-based performance - group "die elektroschuhe". In 2022 he also became a member of „Bühnen im Haus der Statistik e.V.“ , a conglomerate of free-lance artists, pioneers of the Haus der Statistik.
